tDCS for depression
There is emerging evidence for the use of tDCS in the treatment of depression. There is a wide range of variables that can be modified in the delivery of tDCS (e.g. stimulation site, frequency
and spacing of treatment sessions, size and number of electrodes, stimulation intensity and duration and waveform), and research is ongoing into specific modes of administration, the number of treatments needed and the duration of effect for optimal therapeutic effects.
MMHG offers protocols based on the latest available evidence and, consistent with
current guidance conducts treatment with organisational governance and oversight and with a detailed collection of efficacy and safety data for further analysis.
