Am I required to go onto maintenance?
Patients are not forced to go into the maintenance phase, the MMHG Psychiatrist will recommend a maintenance program depending on the outcome of the acute phase of treatment. A patient can choose not to proceed with it. The maintenance phase 'maintains' the response achieved from the acute course.
